Leviat introduces its latest innovation in industrial concrete flooring: Isedio ExpansionJoint, a heavy-duty, leave-in-place, load-transfer and expansion joint system designed to meet the demanding requirements of outdoor industrial concrete slabs. The new product has been engineered to deliver superior durability, simplified installation and compliance with leading industrial specifications.

Key Features & Technical Performance

• The ExpansionJoint is a continuous-pour, leave-in-place formwork system tailored for outdoor heavy-duty industrial concrete floors.
• It incorporates a divider plate with a prefixed 10 mm cross-linked expansion foam, load-transfer plate dowels and sleeves, plus pegs and wedges to facilitate easier, more reliable installation.
• The divider plate is manufactured to order to match the slab’s depth so that load-transfer dowels are located at mid-height of the slab, helping ensure optimal structural performance.
• A unique Asymmetrical Plate Dowel design enhances load transfer between slab panels. Sleeves are designed to enable a class-leading ±20 mm longitudinal movement along the joint, and a maximum 30 mm joint opening.

Performance, Benefits and Industry Standards

Isedio ExpansionJoint has been developed to meet the rigorous performance demand of outdoor industrial concrete slabs, and it surpasses the requirements of TR34, 4th Edition, the globally recognised standard for the design and construction of concrete industrial ground floors.

By enabling continuous pour with pre-welded plate dowels at the correct spacing and height, the system reduces installation time and minimises the potential for error. Its leave-in-place design not only lowers formwork and waste but also ensures long-term durability under heavy traffic.

With the ability to accommodate ±20mm longitudinal movement and a maximum 30mm joint opening, Isedio ExpansionJoint offers outstanding protection against the effects of thermal expansion and contraction, helping safeguard slab integrity over the life of the structure.

Completing the impressive line-up of innovative Leviat developments is Helifix Dixie Micro-Pile Foundation Systems. The circular hollow section piles provide rapid and reliable structural support to a building’s foundations following subsidence and can also act as a piled foundation system for either permanent or temporary new build construction.
